How’s THAT for a Subway Series? Taking 2 out of 3 from a cross-town rival is awesome, but if we win the next two matchups against the Gnats and Marlins, it will be AMAZIN’.

City Connect haters shield your eyes. However small the sample size, the New York Mets’ Grimace kits have the best record of any team uniform. The youth-led Mets are 10-5 in the month of May and I’m predicting that these records will continue to improve.
Armed Forces Day
Major League Baseball celebrated Armed Forces Day Weekend from May 15 through May 17, 2026, with the official Armed Forces Day observed on May 16th. Players across the league wore service-inspired caps, camouflage socks, and used commemorative base jewels to honor military members and veterans. (From MLB.com)
This year’s Armed Forces Day caps saluted the United States Army with olive green 59FIFTY hats from New Era. The hats included a flag on the right side of the crown and camouflage lining on the inside. My favorite detail is the team name screen printed on top of the visor, which gives the hat the look of a G.I.-issued piece of gear. The Mets went 2-1 in this year’s bucket, inverting last year’s record of 1-2.
