Every Laundry Day is Labor Day, but not every Labor Day is a Laundry Day. Think about it…

Imagine, for a moment, being swept by the New York Mets in a three-game series. Now, imagine that the final game of that three game series fell on Sesame Street Night at Citi Field. That’s what happened to the Phillies on August 27th. Lmao.

In front of Elmo, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch (who might actually be from Philly), and other residents of Sesame Street, the Mets shut out the Phillies 6-0 on the back of 8-innings of amazin’ pitching from Noah McLean.

After the game, Mrs. Met was seen, broom in hand, sweeping Bryce Haprer and Co. off the field while wearing an Abby Cadabby t-shirt. My daughter and I were both delighted.

To the annoyance of Chris “Mad Dog” Russo, the Mets continue to celebrate Pete Alonso’s record-breaking home run. As they should. Fans were able to purchase a special event ticket, which included this pretty sweet “Pete Alonso 253” t-shirt.

Mets fans are clearly more excited about this record than Mad Dog, with some of the limited-edition 'Pete Alonso 253' t-shirts selling for up to $50 on eBay. Listen, I’m a sucker for a stadium giveaway, especially if it’s some fresh Mets Laundry, but I’m keeping my money in my pocket. I’d ruin this white t-shirt after one hot dog.

The Brooklyn Cyclones wore their house robes (Gryffindor, because they’re the good guys) on Harry Potter Night. Brooklyn stupefied the Hudson Valley Renegades, defeating them 5-4. Minor League Baseball is the best.

Here are the Laundry Lines through the month of August. The Mets have 24 games remaining on the regular season schedule with exactly half of them being played at home. Because numbers never lie, the Mets absolutely need to wear the City Connect uniforms for their remaining home games in 2025.
