Welcome back to Mets Laundry! This week, I will be asking my mommy to do my laundry in honor of the Little League World Series. Do you think she’ll say yes?

The Brooklyn Cyclones wore these Polar Bear Pete jerseys on Sunday, celebrating the New York Mets’ All-Time Home Run Leader. The Cyclones defeated the Hub City Spartanburgers in an 11-inning marathon. In the 10th inning, Trace Willhoite hit his first home run as a Brooklyn Cyclone. Fortunately for Trace, Pete only hit 5 home runs in Brooklyn, making that marker a lot easier to chase down.

This weekend, the team made their way to Williamsport, PA for the Little League Classic. For MLB Players’ Weekend, Major Leaguers wore hats displaying their numbers and customized gear that showcased their personalities.

Brandon Nimmo wore Finding Nemo inspired cleats, Soto wore some super-powered spikes, and Mark Vientos’ kicks were inspired by the bright lights and neon of NYC.
Both the New York Mets and Seattle Mariners wore these commemorative patches on their hat during the game.

The Mets beat the Mariners 7-3, making them the first team to win the Little League Classic multiple times. The Mets beat the Phillies (who, it’s important to note, have never won this event) 8-2 in the 2018 Little League Classic.

Maybe the Mets should consider wearing their City Connect uniforms full time? Just an idea.

Check back next week, we’ll have a huge Laundry Lines update which will include all the different hats the boys have worn this season.
