The MLB is pausing for the All-Star break, but you know what never stops? Laundry…seriously…there’s so much freakin’ laundry…all the time…forever.

While the Mets were in Kansas City, The Lumineers stopped by Citi Field to perform on their Automatic World Tour. The Alternative Folk Duo from Denver (by way of New Jersey) called upon Mr. Met himself to play tambourine during an extended rendition of “Ophelia”. Obviously, things went awry.

Maybe the official bourbon of the New York Mets was too strong, maybe his New Balances weren’t tied tight enough (what size are those things???), maybe he was focused on fumbling the tambourine. Whatever the reason, Mr. Met took a tumble off the stage and into the crowd. Although he recovered and finished his performance, he’s been seen limping around All-Star Village in Atlanta. I’m sure the war criminal, Blooper, is having a blast with this.

Why is this a topic for Mets Laundry? Because Mr. Met looked GOOD while tumbling off that stage. He modeled his concert fit after a member of The Lumineers, Jeremiah Fraites, who always seems to be wearing black pants, a white shirt, and suspenders (I just assumed this is how everyone in Denver dresses). Who wore it better folks?

Mets prospects Jonah Tong and Carson Benge represented the New York Mets in the 2025 Futures Game. Jonah Tong threw a clean inning, striking out one of the three batters he faced. He topped out at 97mph and showed off his Vulcan Change-Up. Carson Benge went 0 for 1 at the plate, but did record two putouts. The two farmhands played for the National League team, which beat the American League team by a score of 4-2.

Alright, alright, alright. The All-Star Break is time for a lot of things, the Home Run Derby, the Midsummer Classic, but most importantly, it’s time to wash, dry, and air out those uniforms so they’re fresh for the second half. Here’s where we stand for our final Laundry Lines of the first half.
