If you’re subscribed to this newsletter, I am fairly confident you know what Bobby Bonilla Day is. If you are not familiar with the yearly celebration of our patron saint, boy, do I have a treat for you.
In 2024, I created a zine dedicated to Bobby Bonilla Day with plans to update it each year. This zine serves as a yearbook, collecting the best statistics and performances from Mets players on every July 1st.
Last year, the Mets were scheduled to play the Milwaukee Brewers at Citi Field. I bought tickets and printed tons of these silly zines to hand out—and, OF COURSE, the game was postponed due to rain (big Mets energy right there).
Because there was no game, the zine hasn’t been updated since 2024. BUT, today the Mets are scheduled to play the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre. Since it’s a dome, we are guaranteed a game!
